CONTINUITY & EXPERIENCE
Keep Judge Zaine D. Hedge
Chief Magistrate
Welcome to my campaign page. I look foward to earning your vote.
About Me
As your sitting Chief Magistrate, I have revitalized the office, made it more accessible to the community, and kept service to the citizens of Douglas County as my number one priority. You can expect to receive professionalism, civility, and kindness every time you come into the Magistrate Court of Douglas County.
Having lived in Douglas County since I was 13 years old, I have a deep connection to Douglas County. I graduated from Douglas County High School, so I'm a proud tiger. And, giving back through youth initiatives has brought me great joy.
Living, working, and serving in the community I grew up in was incredibly important to me. I lived in Villa Rica when I was young. I moved out on my own for the first time and found a love for Lithia Springs. And, I built a business with my father right in the heart of Douglasville. So, I understand the different parts of our county that make us special.
My hope is that as you learn more about me, you will continue to trust me as your Chief Magistrate Judge.
What Matters Most
Being one of your judges is an awesome responsibility. As the first black male judge in Douglas County's 156 year history, I take seriously the weight of this position. I also take great pride in being a member of this community, in helping people solve their legal problems, and in being an approachable member of the judiciary.
The truth is: judges have to make incredibly difficult decisions every single day. As a longtime member of the community, I know those decisions have a wider effect on the greater Douglas County. My legal experience coupled with my long tenure as a Douglas County resident gives me the exact perspective that matches our unique community. Most importantly, my intimate connection with Douglas County means I know who we are and what our community needs.
As your Chief Magistrate, I look forward to continuing to serve my hometown with integrity, distinction, and pride.
